Anti-Bullying Week

 The whole of Cabot School have had an anti-bullying week.

In Reception we have been thinking about how we can stop bullying before it even begins. We talked about what makes us feel sad, worried or upset and how we can stop feeling that way.

We went into the ICT suite and we drew some pictures of our emotions and how we like to feel happy but do not like to feel bad.

Mr Riordan saw our work in assembly and said that it was good!

Up up and away

In Reception we are learning about things that go 'Up up and away'. Here are some of the things we think go up up and away:

• A fairy - Hamdi
• A helicopter - Abdirahman
• A butterfly - Safa
• A kite - Jeremy
• A hot air balloon - Aleena
• The moon - Asiya
• A jet pack - Selah
• A bird - Sabrina
• A big big big jet - Shawn

We made 'a space room' for quiet reading and decorated the walls with our pictures. We made planes and rockets with paper, card and triangles.

Cabot On TV!

Today ITV came to film in Cabot Primary School. Make sure to watch the news next week because you will see our school afterwards!

The men from ITV said we were the best school he had seen!

We Wish You A Merry Christmas!

Reception and Key Stage 1 put on their performance of 'Eddie The Penguin Saves The World' for their parents.

They sang really loudly and everyone gave them a big round of applause at the end.

Well done for working so hard at the end of a long term!

We hope you can come to our show! It is all about a penguin called Eddie who tries to stop the ice melting at the North Pole.

Hamdi says "The show is wonderful!"

Abdilatif says "The polar bears are big polar bears."

Takara says "The polar bears are nice."

Safa says "Polar bears like the ice."

Winter Walk and Firefighters!

It wasn't our usual Forestry Friday because we went for a winter walk to St Pauls park.

'I was Star of the Day and I was kind to my friends in the park.' - Takara

'The park was good.' - Salma

'The park was nice it was cold and ice on the grass!' - Sabrina

Then, in the afternoon we had a visit from the Firefighters! Here are some questions we asked them:

'If your house has fire will they protect it so it can't be burned any more.' - Jeremy

'Do they help us put the fire out?' - Safa

'Do they put protective clothes on?' - Hamdi

X Factor

We helped to raise nearly a hundred pounds for Children In Need by putting on an X Factor show. All the teachers presented an act and here is what the children thought:

'JLS were lovely. We like JLS.' - Hamdi

'JLS was wonderful.' - Nafisa

'Jedward danced and threw sweets! Everyone tried to get sweets.' - Abdilatif

'The magic tricks were cool! I wanted to do them.' - Omar
